"Our Enemies, the Saudis" I am glad to see that not everyone is blinded by black gold, revenues from weapon sales and or just fear.

How serious can the Muslim world take us when they know of the abuse we tolerate from the Saudi's?

If Iraq can be conquered with its existing oil production intact, we will have sufficient leverage over the Saudi's. If Iraq's production is reduced in any way we will literally be increasing the Saudi's leverage.

Support from Russian future incremental production and/or rebuilding Iraq's existing production capabilities wont make much of a difference in the near term. With a weak global economy with little oil stocks in reserve, a supply shock from the loss of Iraqi oil would not be very popular.

Will OPEC make up Iraq's production if it is lost? Or will they use it as a weapon to maintain political support on the homefront?
