Fiberlink Signs Deal with Infonet to Extend Its International Remote Access Services
Communications Provider Creates Premium Global Network
biz.yahoo.com
BLUE BELL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 2002--In a move to further extend its managed remote access services internationally, Fiberlink today partnered with Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE/FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communication services for multinationals. The deal gives Fiberlink customers superior international coverage and a redundant, fail-safe global network for their corporate remote access needs.

This partnership will allow Fiberlink to offer enterprise users significantly more international dial-up locations to connect to their corporate networks. This increase translates into more convenient and resilient network access for domestic and international mobile workforces, additional in-country access services, and an overall improved total cost of ownership to Fiberlink's corporate customers, due to increased local access coverage.

"When we were looking to strengthen Fiberlink's international reach, we were most impressed by Infonet's focus on corporate clients overseas, which has proved a successful business," said Skip Taylor, Fiberlink's vice president of product marketing. "Infonet's award-winning network services have earned the company an excellent reputation in the international IT community, and will be a great fit with Fiberlink's remote access and security solutions."

"Infonet and Fiberlink share a common goal. We provide superior communications services to our corporate clients, regardless of their location," said Marc Patterson, vice president of mobile workplace solutions for Infonet. "Our continued partnership with Fiberlink will enhance our ability to service a wider range of corporate clients with a widening range of access capabilities."

Corporations using Fiberlink Global Remote throughout Europe and Asia can take advantage of the additional international coverage immediately, through automatic updates to Fiberlink's VPNterprise(sm) platform.
