Is SMH a good substitute for the SOX? Thinking of following Don Sew's Class 1 buy on the SOX.

Just a contrary note.. yesterday CSCO was downgraded at near its lows and the market, and SOX.. all got hammered. Its almost as if it were a reverse of the upside ramp job last Q. They ramped it down in order to go long a day into earnings.

On the daily charts there's a perfect double bottom on the compx that under other circumstances than the world disorder were seeing, one might easily see running just shy of 1400...

Perhaps I'm suffering from contrarian contrian's syndrome.. but it seems to me the percentage of bad news events being shrugged off is increasing. When stocks rise on bad news, bears have lost their claws.

A rally back to old highs.. not in this year or next, but major declines from here? I'm not betting heavily on the short side anymore.

Jim
