gottfried, how about P/S in the early 90's. Fred Hickey showed AMAT at 1.0 and KLAC at .8 in 1990.

Good observations on past history. I think we have both been through enough of these cycles to know that some of the historical ratios that we might see for say 1990 on a stock are just way off. It will appear that something sold for 2x sales when it was never under 3, to sight what would be an extreme example.

Personally, this use of distorted facts by shorts or those who are talking tech down, but who are proven to be "right" nearly every day, is especially maddening. I am not saying they realize they are using inaccurate information. Many are just young folks who have never seen a normal bull market, or who are really ta guys, who are then post facto using "fundamentals" to explain a price. And I am absolutely sure that what I feel is exactly what they felt with regard to explanations on why valuations were deserved during 1999 through 2000. They will be right, until there is more steam behind this engine.
