Paul, very good point, reminds me of a strong GOLD factor

in July, we saw the falling USdollar fail to rally gold
that was followed by a gold correction

now in August, we see a rising USdollar fail to hurt gold
I suspect it will be followed by a continued rise in gold

in July, gold had risen substantially without correction
then it came

in August, the dollar has risen substantially in correction
now its downtrend resumption is due
economic news is much weaker than previously perceived
no end to corruption charges or to bankruptcy filings
trade barriers are still in place
deficits are growing, both in federal budget and trade gap

the USdollar is hitting its 50dayMA now
right now

Maybe I'm tracking the wrong gold stocks but GFI is down this morning. A couple of other look flat to slightly up. And here is a 5 day chart of $XAU. Looks flat to me after that run to 65 and testing a very important trend line. If $XAU brakes 55/6 I think gold could revisit the lows. JMHO.
