That is a whopping reduction! We'd just purchased this house about 1 1/2 years ago so the rates weren't that high. Even though we won't get any additional money in our pocket, I sure like the idea of paying about an extra $90 a month to get the house paid off twice as fast!! Most of the closing costs I checked on here were in the $1600 to $2000 range...is that what you found? tuna

Dave, I refinanced also, with Wells Fargo. Got a 30 yr fixed for 5.63%, saved a few hundred/month on previous mortgage.
