I and every polling outfit; it's not a controversial statement. The people who are replying are not six year-olds, but they only represent the set of CNN viewers who felt moved to reply to this particular on-line poll. They may or may not be representative of a wider sampling of Americans.

Online CNN polls are unscientific for two reasons I can think of. First they only possible responses they can receive are from people who watch CNN. This does not represent a good sample of the US population IMO. CNN is very biased to the left IMO.

Also any person can respond many times over, generally only a person with strong feelings one way or another will respond at all.
