it was also my understanding the three black crows was a pattern that applied to an uptrend. so this past weekend i went to a lot of candlestick sites to see what they had to say about it (i don't have a book on the subject of candlesticks). the examples i found were taken from uptrends. one example i found said it shows up in an uptrend. i think that example was in some stockcharts.com tutorial. fwiw i am assuming three black crows is a pattern that sometimes can be found in an uptrend. in a downtrend i have seen lots of charts that have 3, 4, 5, or more such down days.
