On the question of her paternal grandfather, could we at least narrow in down to a region, if not a state? General rule of thumb in presidential elections: Never vote for a guy who dummys up when asked who his father was, or who's mother was the town doormat. This really works for liberals too, though they are for more likely to have the disfunctional creatures in their party...
