That is a great question, for which, along with "Where did you get 10,000 collateral dead from bombing the aspirin factory in Sudan?" there will never be legitimate answers.

You are correct. There will never be a legitimate answer, because the U.S. blocked the UN investigation into the matter. However, the best estimate was over 10,000.
