If you doubt that the major stations and major cable news outlets are not predominately mainsteam, and don't command the majority of the viewing public and most of the advertising dollars, then who do you suggest are the mainstream outlets

I really am bailing from this thread for a while -- aside from annoying others on the thread I need to do a little work now and then. But you raised an often-cited issue that I wanted to make one last response to.

CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and almost all newspapers are extremely liberal. They are, however, the primary sources most people use to get news. This is what leads me to my earlier statements with respect to a "free press" versus a "lying press", and the propaganda value of the lying press.

As it turns out, upwards of 85% of journalists are liberals; in many instances, extremists. There is adequate documentation of this fact, by the admission of the very newspeople involved. These are the same people who are running the aforementioned news organizations. If follows that they present the news with a liberal bias.

While there are prolific examples of the bias, I doubt you would be willing to read a litany of them cited here. I recommend you read Bernie Goldberg's book, which will open your eyes to how the press insidiously misleads you, me, and everyone else on the planet. Only through careful scrutiny of the news you get can you ferret out the truth.

Often, it is necessary to offset the extreme liberal media with material from some extreme right material (for example, newsmax.com), just in the interest of getting a clear picture. I do this routinely -- I watch CNN and Fox throughout the day (in about equal doses), and I listen to both sides, and make a determination about what are the facts.

From your earlier statements, I believe that you accept the news as reported in the Washington Post, NY Times, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS at face value. Well, that's not news -- that's opinion.

If you want to continue this debate, feel free to do so by sending me a private response so as to give the thread a little break from politics.
