Soros, perhaps you're debt free. I am and I wouldn't have it any other way.

That said, it wasn't that way when I started making a living. You sound like my dad when he told me thirty five years ago, "If you can't pay for it in cash, you can't afford it." I listened to him, but as my family grew (and our needs did accordingly), I realized I would need some help. And that's where borrowing came in. With the help of a bank, a mortgage company and others, I managed to put two kids through college and be where I am today.

Yes borrowing abuses exist. But, unlike you and others who preach that the world (as we know it), is coming to an end (because of our deplorable financial management practices) just might be setting yourselves up for a big disappointment. There are folks out there who have the means and integrity to fulfill their lending obligations.
