chiefy, we had a pretty cool bull market into 1998, since then it has been a sector bull market, if you were in the right sector at the right time you made money.

if you were in the wrong sector you got the giant wedgie.

I suspect everything will have to be killed like it was at the 98 lows, before the market will be able to be synchronous to the upside.

since the top in 98 and 00, there have been places to hide

in equities, secular bottoms happen when mutual funds have huge cash positions, and when most of the public has given up.

on an elliot wave basis, i gave the possibility that the whole sideways market in the dow since 98 was a 4th wave, but the recent break of the 98 lows is not good, if the spx makes a rally above 950 and then turns back down to 950 and runs up, i will change my mind, that will tell most people that the h&S is a bear trap.

I'm worried about the economy.
