Oh no, I didn't know about Bush's grand-dad <Dubya's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a banker to Hitler well into WW II. He saw no conflict-of-interest.>

Really? The damn Germans have been no end of problem to my ancestors - making refugees of my paternal Alsace/Paris siege branch in 1872 [NZ was far from the bastards!], requiring maternal grand-dad to go to France to sort them out in WWI and Dad to do the same in 1940 for a few years.

How come the Yanks were so slow to understand what Hitler had planned for the world and hid over the ocean until Japan made them realize they couldn't stay out? Now that the WTC has gone, they have figured out that Gorby and the Russians weren't actually the centre of the Matrix of Malevolence despite decades of absurd obsession. Support for Saudi Arabia, Saddam and Mujahadeen might not have been all that great after all. Russia in Afghanistan was perhaps better than Osama and Omar in Afghanistan. Making Gorby retreat was a big mistake; it would probably have been tough to get him to stay in any event.

Stalinists are middle brow. Trotskyists are high brow, and completely baffling to the Stalinist.

Are you a Trotskyist?
