FWIW, sales have little to do with the number of installations in the case of Linux, since you can get hold of a single CD and legally install from it on hundreds of machines.

you should be more worried about the lack of revenues coming to MSFT because of Linux, rather than Linux revenues..... there isn't much revenues in a free OS, and these installations are not well measured by such a survey of "SALES" since sales don't measure Linux type of software "downloads"..... but the impact on MSFT is measurable and significant.......
