Remember when options were heralded as the way to align the interests of management and its employees with that of the stockholders? Now they'll kill them in the interest of making companies honest but soon people will find out that wasn't what was making them do poorly after all. Somewhere in the future at a stockholder's meeting someone will suggest that management needs compensation that is performance based instead of being paid big bucks while the company does poorly and somebody else will suggest paying them with stock.
