"Amazon yet ! "<<
That might change because the SEC is currently looking into all of AOL's deals prior to the Time Warner merger. AOL and AMZN made a lot of deals. Didn't Amzn leave YHOO so they could get an exclusive online advertising deal with AOL?
And what was the $100 million investment AOL made in Amzn all about?
Curious minds want to know, and the conspiracy theory continues.;)"

Yes they do. That "investment" is way under water at present and was required by Amazon to complete the fiscal year year 2001. They were out of cash. AOL was not exactly rolling in cash and debt free either but they invested $100 million in a firm losing money????

The sec was understaffed in September 2000, and remains so.
And the most experienced SEC staffers have been quitting.

Most of these high-profile, media-attractive cases will not be successfully prosecuted, so they will be plead. Fraud is difficult to prove.

Besides, who was the last star law school student you knew who went into govt service? If OJ can get off, Ebbers and Rigas have nothing to worry about.
