I want 9/11 to be a quiet, meditative day. I don't know if I will be able to prevent myself from watching some of the TV coverage, and I am sure my kids will want to talk about it. The hardest thing for me has been to watch them try to make sense of a world in which things like that happen. My oldest was scared to fly when we took a trip a couple months later, my youngest son didn't understand why he couldn't go meet his cousin's flight at the gate like he always had. Little things, little fears, but underneath it all their innocence about the world was dealt a powerful blow that day.
