At any given stock price supply exists above and below, as does demand.

Both, always. The quality of the sellers and buyers is what is of interest, as the flow of money is predictable, even if prices are not. Money flows from the microbe to vegetable life, and then to marsupials and rodents. From there, animals are eaten in succession by larger and larger carnivores. So that selling at a certain price might be initiated at the top of the food chain to bring out the lesser carnivores, and so on, until there is enough prey available to satisfy the appetite of the largest carnivore, who then will resell to the lesser animals at a certain, somewhat preordained price. Just one scenario.
