Tim, AMD needs to focus on becoming a "master" in servers and workstations. Their "jack-of-all-trades" plan is nothing more than wishful thinking from marketing, for they will fail to execute if spread out too thinly.

By the way, when I mention desktops, I am not talking about the high-end desktops, a.k.a. "virtual workstations." AMD will probably do well in that area. I am talking about the mainstream, where the volumes are high but the margins are declining. The mainstream (liberal or conservative <G>) is quickly becoming commoditized, and AMD cannot hope to compete in a commodity setting.
