I too believe that energy independence is a national security issue....Perhaps it is time for all the NIMBY's to start thinking about, AND ACTING ON, the "possible" rather than the flip of that. Talk about a growth industry for this country....If we could develop new, and inexpensive, sources of energy for this country, and eventually for the world, we would be right in the middle of a 1890's gold rush.... This country needs growth industries. Period. Currently, IMO, we have only technology. Timber isn't. Steel isn't. What other than technology? And for the last 2 1/2 years technology has been just decimated. New sources of energy, economical and inexhaustible, clean, energy....could be the salvation of the entire world's peoples.
