I gather, from this post, Hawk, that you consider anyone who disagrees with you as intellectually dishonest.

Not at all John. I put out my thoughts here with complete expectation that if they are logically unsupportable, or morally unsound, they will be analyzed and picked apart.

I'm not always right, but I seek DISCUSSION, and alternative perspectives AND SOLUTIONS to provide me other viewpoints.

But unfortunately, you and I have taken this to a more personal level than I like to engage in. But one thing that has distressed me about many of your posts is that you are quick to criticize other people's opinions without offering any substantiate alternatives of your own.

Maybe that's just my own personal perspective, and we can let the thread decide. But folks know that when I criticize them, I'm generally prepared to support that criticism with some facts and logic.

Btw, thank you for taking me down "memory road" from my university days where the coup in Chile was a piece of history that several of my Phd professors like to fling around. They didn't particularly like my perspective either (and my grades suffered a trifle as a result).

But I was there to get an education and let logic and truth win out, not to kiss their overeducated @sses and get the "A"... Stupid me... living by a set of principles that cost me my "Cum Laude" at graduation.
