As I continued reading this speech, I kept thinking "and this is the man who was able to go to work for the man, and men, who killed his (beloved?) father."

Hi Ike,

Prince Turki al Faisal was replaced as Intelligence Director by Prince Nawwaf because of his association with Bin Laden. He was let go by King Fahd and his successor was picked by Crown Prince Abdullah. This seems to be an effort by him to repair his image in the west in an attempt to bid for the crown prince's job.

Crown Prince Abdullah has pulled away from the west. In fact, his actions have become anti-western. King Fahd has met with Prince Salman and Prince Abdul Rahman just after the king had met with King Abdullah II and President Mubarak in Geneva. They are considering a power play against the crown prince but that may be difficult considering his public support garnered from Wahhabi (Salafi) support of him and his positions.

The Sudairi Seven do not enjoy the support he holds and yet the crown prince is leading his country down the wrong path in a fast way.

BTW, ...his description of the Oil Embargo was, ...well, ...how can I say it, ...lame!
