That's a toughie. Jeffords was voted in a Republican but mostly voted liberal anyway. I do think that the leadership of a house of the government shouldn't be changed on one man's whim. Jeffords was offered a seat where he could steal more money and now we're getting short on judges because of him.

Repugs probably could have kept Jeffords in the fold had they heard him out re: special education and said, "We'll take care of your concerns." The snubbing cost the Repugs dearly.

P.S. Are you similarly still outraged over Shelby from Alabama and Campbell from Colorado and Gramm from Texas switching from D to R?
