Thanks for the interesting story Carl.. Having once lived in Idaho (and actually considering moving back), and having an Uncle (now deceased) who was of Basque lineage there, I understand a bit about their feelings. Kind of comparable to the extensive support the IRA had in New England.

And those ETA folks are brutal. Based upon marxist ideology masked behind long-standing nationalist separatist feelings they closely resemble the structure of how the IRA once function. They rely upon the "Foco Theory" of creating revolution where conditions are not right for a spontaneous uprising, they engage in particularly violent acts of terrorism and intimidation against all who oppose them.

Seeking independence is one thing, but trying to create a violent revolution through intimidation of "friend" and foe alike is hardly worthy of any form of support.

Btw, many Basques moved to Idaho in order to raise sheep:
