Knip, re your Outlook Express problem: if it is OE6 it's part of the Internet Explorer browser and as far as I know cannot be removed by itself. However, when I go to 'my computer'>control panel>add/remove programs
OE shows up separately from IE. So you could try to remove them both. I have not tried. Before you try...

Let's deal with your concern about e-mail address book first. Open the address book in OE, click file and then export. Choose to export as a *.wab file. You can put this backup on a floppy. I do this routinely every week.

Next, backing up messages: in OE, highlight a message header, click file>export and choose 'messages'.

Please do the backups first. Then we can address your other problems.

Gottfried

Your first problem may be related to your second problem.. I recommend getting a spyware remover such as this one from Lavasoft.

If that doesn't stop the popups then look into a Trojan remover also. I wouldn't go deleting anything until you try some of these programs. Good Luck.

Then get yourself a good firewall to stop these intrusions before they happen. :)
