Jeff, do you think September Puts are safe here? I still am a believer in this retrace and I am trying to figure if it is better to sell at a small to moderate loss or wait for the market to come back to the gap below and retest at 1172.

Jeff, if they do ramp over those lines you mentioned, it will only set up a dump of near epic proportions after the Fed meeting.

Looking at the daily on Raptor's site, there is a bear flag off the lows on the COMP that appears to measure to around 975 or so. We'll see if that one breaks. The flag does allow upside above last week's high to just below COMP 1400.

I see futures are selling off a bit after the news release, but not too much.

Jeff: Yes, they are doing a good job this morning.

Re: "in order to get past that bagholder zone and a run at 1400....the stochs with anti-venom on the spx and dow is their best shot as that is a strong signal.....first time since may they have been in a position to do this....."

It's confusing, as it is meant to be, but I favor the short side because of what I have seen this week. I could not make a good case for big up. But the biggest factor going for strong up was op/ex manipulation -- getting shortie by suckering him. So I have tempered my shorts here more than I would have otherwise.

Agree with all that Jeff, three mornings in a row, futures RAMPED for no good reason.

Oh yeah, I forgot, Fed is going to cut rates, LOL.

Jeff: Re: ".....their best shot to ramp this market is now."

I think a good rampola possibility is after the SEC deadline disclosure. I think a good dumpola could come before it as fear of and/or actual skeletons come out of the closet. But afterwards, who cares anymore? All the bad news is out or perceived to be out. And should be the new sales pitch we get after the Fed. pitch fades and Sir Binhidinalot is captured <g>.
