Maybe it's people in the upper classes and upper-middle classes, or people with desk jobs, where people act polite, who don't realize how much hatred there was in this country directed towards Middle Easterners before 9/11, and especially after 9/11.

Point taken. Though I still have heard about few actual anti-Arab incidents, though maybe there's just not much publicity. Which I find rather remarkable, considering the provocation.

Where the question relates to the discussion Karen and I had yesterday, in light of these anti-Muslim feelings, is it "piling on" to discuss cases where American Muslim teens are sympathising or even being trained in Jihadi Islamic fundamentalism, or do we need to assess the threat?
