This piece by Trudy Rubin, whoever she may be, is interesting. I was not aware that Lugar was this skeptical, though I had seen Hagel on national TV a couple of times. The piece is not terribly well done but the questions are mine. I'll repeat what I've said before. If the Bush folk can't answer those questions, the deciding moment won't be at the point of attack; it will be on the domestic scene when matters don't go perfectly well. Perhaps, however, in the interim, the Bush folk will do a better job of persuasion. As I recall from the Senate schedule, Biden has them scheduled for the fall.
