This is an excellent example of one of the reasons Intel doesn't like the idea of expensing options (and I agree). Instead of making it easier for investors to read earnings statements, companies will now report as above, i.e. both with and without the effects of the options expense. There will be two numbers each quarter for analysts and investors to sort through - many of us experienced investors won't be confused, but many novice ones will.

What a crock! For years Intel has confused investors with
a balance sheet designed to obfuscate. And dim wit Intel investors sucked it up as long as the stock went up. Now that the stock has tanked, they worry about the added confusion of options. How times change.

why not just report it with options expensed? And before you bring the old "consistency dog" out let me remind you that Intel is not reporting earnings with and without effect of goodwill charges. Even after subtracting $.04 intel would still be inconsistent with last year earnings basis.
I can name you so many things that intel chooses to omit but for some reason all of them would reduce the reported numbers. Intel does not choose to omit or stretch the numbers that would help the bottom line regardless how confusing those numbers may be.
Then .15 or less?
