Kelvin,

How many times do you have to lose 10% on a trade to lose a total of 50%? The answer is five. Go ahead and buy semiconductor stocks with a 10% stop. I'd be willing to bet that you'll get stopped out five times in less time than it took any stock that I have held to go down 50%. In my opinion, a stop of 10% is not adequate for an investment in a volatile stock. I am not talking about flipping stocks here. I am talking about INVESTING.
