My eleven year old has gotten two pre-approved credit card notices in the mail this past year. I called the company responsible for this asked them to please not send anything else to our house. They send another one 6 months later.

I called the State Attorney's office. Haven't seen anything from this one bank since.

You know, Shootie...I thought the exact same thing as he was showing me how to do it! I took his younger sister shopping the other day, and told she and her friend they could both have $5 to spend any way they wanted to...BUT only rule was they had to go to at least 3 stores to compare items....Of course, they had been used to just seeing something (all of it) and wanting it, and most often getting whatever....so neither one had an idea of what $5 was other than money. I had the clerks break the $5 into $1 bills, and put the bills under each item they were going to think about....Worked really slick. They got a lesson, didn't know it, plus a little present they hadn't expected...and I had a wonderful afternoon learning about their wants and thoughts.

Looks like it's time to take her brother and do the same thing with him....
