Everywhere near my desk is jammed with other things. I moved both my study from the old house and my four-room office into a library-office that's about the size of a standard living room. It does have second floor balcony for bookshelves, but my wife has already grabbed about 3/4 of that for childrens books. The balcony has a wonderful bench with an open railing back along three sides for sitting on and reading (the fourth side is a dramatic window), and is intended to become a beloved haunt for our grandchildren, but I had hoped to have more of it for my books. Sigh. So cutting back and consolidating is the order of the day. Like X, we're feeding our library book sale for the next few years.
