I like the Lattimore translation of Homer myself. But I admit I haven't read the Fagles yet. I'll try it.

I like the Fitzgerald for the Odyssey.

While I like my prose translation of Dante, I really dislike the Rieu translations of Homer. I think he takes all the power out of the language. Homer, after all, was meant to be recited, not read, and the musicality of the language is an integral part of the poem for me.
