Gary Shilling was just on CNBC is looking for double dip recession and deflation. From the start, ECRI are the only economists unequivocal in saying no double dip. No other economist conveyed a message with such equanimity.

A few ornery Bears out today, no?

Best Regards, J.T.

mike:

how can we have a double dip if we haven't come out of the recession yet?

Actually I read (didn't check the facts) that in the post ww recessions we've had the double dip in all but 2 and prior to wwII the recessions were longer with even triple dips.

Actually from a GDP standpoint I'd guess the 2nd quarter gets revised to negative before were done and this one will probably be negative so we don't come out of recession till the 4th quarter.
