I have a word for you goldsnow! I perceive that you desire to know the truth. Your anti-Christian quotes from a few of the early American leaders tells me that you are searching and are willing to accept new ideas if they are based on truth and reality. The need for truth, righteousness and peace cannot be attained in the writings of man. Ultimate reality, truth, peace and a clean conscience can only come God and his revelations. I have a challenge for you! Read the Torah and the Prophets and search for the fingerprint of the Messiah in these writings. Every time you find a passage that speaks of the great redeemer and Messiah, mark it. When you complete reading the Torah and the prophets, then go to the NT and read the Gospels. If you are truly searching for reality, truth, peace and forgiveness of sins, then you will that the Messiah of Israel is Jesus and he will provide you with deepest desires of your heart.
