<Machiavellian plans>

two of the funnier domestic stories

- the guy (professor, Hellsinsky University of telecom??) who calculated one could air-drop WLAN stations
something like 300meter apart all over Germany, even in the lakes, for the cost of 3G

- the other one who asked what it would cost to connect them

Somebody might add what it would take to find the little boxes after they have been dropped??

Anyway, I'm still using the little local IP-DSL provider, we are both renting copper from the machiavellian
Sonera, their third machiavellian copper pair to this little cellar and kiddy-server, another box and high speed
connection to their mainserver in the next little village, and connecting, once again, to the machiavellian Sonera
internet backbone.

However, at the moment I might get it 30% cheaper as ADSL directly from that same copper-machiavelli,
but would need to change my old e-mail address. (considering how it has leaked out to all kind
of junk-mail providers, not a bad idea??)

On the other hand, my brother kids use a Sonera ADSL on the upper bands of their Hellsinsky
voice-copper provider, thanks to some the regulation of the finnish parliament.

Ilmarinen

On the other hand, one buddy just visited a major USA conference, accomodation on
"the always DSL and WLAN connected hotel" which run out of server capacity, luckily
a regular old switched copperline modem got him connected to read his emails,etc..

And on the third hand, I still like to read the really local news on my little IP providers
portal, as well as being served in the local dialect when sometimes calling them.
(as well as bitching in the same dialect when meeting them in any local restaurant,
although some of girls are nothing to bitch about)

Btw, keeping the same number when switching wireless machiavellians will
probably be reality next, or next year.

Tougher to predict when it will work for 300 or less meter WLAN spaces??
