Equity mutual funds that invest primarily in U.S. stocks faced their twelfth straight week of outlows as investors pulled out $2.3 billion in the latest week, according to Trim Tabs. Over the five-day period ended Wednesday, international equity saw outflows of $1.2 billion, compared with inflows of $2.5 billion the prior week. Meanwhile, investors pumped roughly $3.1 billion into bond funds, the Santa Rosa, Calif.-based fund tracker said. Trim Tabs tracks the daily flows of 90 fund families, representing about 15 percent of all equity fund assets, to arrive at its weekly estimates.
