RE:"No it doesn't. A policy that favors one minority over another is bad policy, period.
But I'm sure we Asians don't deserve everything we've worked for. After all, we're just white people with squinty eyes and straight black hair. We must be part of the Good Ole Boy network.

I agree. Seems to me that Asians need Affirmative Action like a hole in the head. I don't blame you for being insulted by it. It's like an underhanded comment that you are too dumb to get anywhere on your own. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Basically it comes down to family and early childhood development. If a child is not given love and the educational basics at a young age then it's hard to make up for later. This transcends any race.

Ten,

Squinty? I thought they were slanty. You sure are bringing up your Korean heritage alot lately. Are your expecting preferential treatment on the thread?

That's okay.......I too hated A.A. until I saw how things really work in this society........post riot LA was a major revelation for me.

As for Asians, they have had it somewhat easier than other groups primarily because of their ability to assimilate quickly. But don't forget, the WW II camps were not far from here and 60 years is not that long a time when it comes to issues of race.
