Churchill sided with Stalin when the only way for Britain to survive the war was to create an eastern front. Churchill hated Stalin as much as Hitler...but Stalin wasn't dropping bombs on Britain.

Churchill beg & pleaded with Roosevelt at Yalta to keep the USSR out of eastern Europe. Britain's country & military were crushed in the war. The US was the only military deterrent to Russia...we still had a relatively healthy contingent over there and we had the bomb. Only the US could send the red menace back to it's borders. Unfortunately for us, Roosevelt heeded the advice of Alger Hiss instead of Churchill.
