...while lobbying to prevent things from being cleared up. As long as the media and the pols (not to mention some investors on message boards) are screaming for punitive measures, tech companies will resist and I don't blame them. BTW, I seriously doubt that a well thought out change would have any impact on the market, beyond confusion on the part of a few investors who never read financial statements anyway and wouldn't know a P&L if it bit them in the arse.
