Well, yes. The author of the peice that you posted, seems to have forgotten that the last few times that financial markets have been shocked this bad (beginning in 2000), nations have gone into long sustained economic slumps that can take decades to resolve. Your author that seems to be advocating: That President Bush guide the American Economy, by follow the example set by Herbert Hoover. The last American President to maintain fiscal discipline after a market crash.
