Brian, it has certainly been discussed on this thread that one of the reasons to invest in AMAT was that it was increasing its share of the SCE market. I suggested that this may not currently be the case. I was not comparing AMAT to specific companies, only to the total SCE market. Ian made the valid point that it would be better to make the comparison by excluding subsegments of the market not served by AMAT. I don't have those figures readily available and am too lazy to dig for them. Perhaps others would be interested in doing so.

I was not "bashing" AMAT, just asking a question based on reported numbers. I appreciate the discussion that followed. However I am non the wiser. Is the answer to my question "can't say"?

I do think AMAT is a great company. However its shares may be overpriced. I may of course be wrong<g>.
