That Santa never brings.. Like what you have to work for..for yourselves.. Like your rights, your dignity And MORE SO, for others TOO.... It shouldn't be like the old ditty, my father used to quote about the selfish.. when he got pissed at them.. When he felt as I do now of those selfish ones.. "God bless me, and my Wife.. My Son John and his wife. Us Four and NO more" And I thought of this when I read Hendrik Hertzberg's lead editorial in the August 19 and 26th, 2002, issue of "The New Yorker" when he wrote about the Quecreek Nine that was rescued.. And it goes on to say, as I understand it, how unions were responsible for MSHA, etc.. And actually, from my interpretation, to take it further, for EVERY NONUNION worker's benefit, Many of these, NOW FEDERAL and CORPORATE fat assed TAKERS , hate the people that got them their decent working conditions, a few weeks vacation and whatever health care they get..I'm glad for them ..But what.. I'm NOT OF.. is THEIR hypocrisy But thankfully a few still understand, like HH of "The NYer".. And I am glad for Him but mostly for ME and Thee.. . that he still writes.. And has the courage to tell it like it is.. And moving on: I read a little here, about leaving books "on the trail of anonymous book lovers".. That is great, I applaud those that do.. But when, and if I do, I will carefully select what I leave out there.. Like works from..Studs Terkel, Ellen Goodman, Gore Vidal, Terry Tempest Williams, Edward Abbey, etc. come to mind... In other words, Someone.. that has something to SAY ...of the human and environmental condition of our time..
