Ron, Barron's highlights that their list assumes a 2 year time horizon. Compare that with Don's recent calculation where analysts' price targets predict a double for the group in 12 months. I have little faith in analysts' price targets. Don's post Message 17844722

And Applied remains pricey: The stock trades for 20 times expected earnings for the October 2003 fiscal year and 75 times current-year estimates.

This assumes that current estimates are even close to being eventually right. AMAT traded at similar multiples in November 1998 when 99E was around $0.50-$0.55 and 00E around $1.50-$2.00. 99A ended up around $1.80 and 00A around $4.80.
