Re: I think that INTC is also getting, or going to get, spanked for their bold refusal to expense options.

Intel's opinion on expensing stock options was made VERY clear on Thursday, and the stock rallied. INTC declined on Friday, but it was a good week overall.

I think Intel is explaining their reasons for fighting stock option expensing very well, and I'm glad they're taking a leadership position on the issue.

Intel and others are quite different from Coke, Boeing, etc. who decided to expense options in that they grant huge options to executives, and very little, if any, to all employees. Intel and other tech companies issue stock options to ALL employees, and want their employees motivated to work hard. I worked for Boeing, and I assure you morale was horrible much of the time, and upper management was ridiculed continuously. I couldn't believe the switch in corporate culture when I left Boeing and joined Intel - it was a much better place to work for.

I firmly believe Intel is doing the right thing in fighting this silly, reactionary move to expense options, and I hope more companies join the fight.
