my grandma has him beat by a mile. she bought 24 gallons of (Y2K) bleach in dec 1999 because "the apocalypse is no excuse to walk around in dirty underwear".

when i helped her move last year we packed up the 18 of them she still had left.

I think he left out energy prices. $10 a gallon gasoline would demoralize most honest people and set off a crime wave in the U.S.

That's only twice what is paid in England right this minute.

Things probably will not get as bad as that guy fears, but they could easily get bad enough so that a substantial fraction of the population fears they could get that bad.

Expect the worst and you won't be disappointed -G-

was a piece on BBC about losses to the banking unit of Allanz<sp?> insurance unit in Latin America. The american banks are simply lying -- they've gotten their butts fried and now everything is being tried to hold them together.

30 B of promises. I think the recent bond action might have been some kind of gift to them ... who knows. I think the poster there isn't really saying anything incredible.
