"PS Glenn why do you think amzn US business is flat? I'll bet this xmas season rocks and eclipses last year. "

This was from their numbers. Their increase in revenue came almost entirely for overseas. I do not know why they did increase domestically.

" I'm sure they continue to make money on shipping whether standard or premium. The downside is the consumer does not get speedy delivery if they choose the std shipping option from amzn. If it says "7-10 day delivery", I can assure you it will take the full 10 days."

Amazon is not charging shipping for orders over $49.00. I suspect most customers make their order reach $49.00 so I fail to see the margins for Amazon. My position is this free shipping offer is an error on their part. However, there are a lot of on-line firms making similar offers. I am still confused about the merits to this and it is not a logical argument to state that this must be the best way due to the fact mmany firms do it.
