The key phrase in my post is "tactically out fight". I was saving "rat catching" for somebody to simply run through all the usual specifications and you beat me to it!! :-) Orbiting over German airfields and then swooping down to blast the Me-262 on it's take off role is tactically out fighting your opponet. Ever see a Mustang with it's wings perpendicular to the ground on it's way down for a strafing run?? Impressive!! You have similar problems when discussing tanks. If your tank can not cross bridges, or stay running for very long, or the crew has to always have the hatch open cause the fumes get in the crew compartment, you have a set of problems that gunnery performance can not solve. If it takes 10 hours to change a tank engine Vs 5 for the other guy, it obviously takes longer to repair your tanks. This last paragraph is not aimed at You Jochen.
