That ONLY works in the following startup.
Two Farmers
T tells the truth
L tells a lie
Each knows the others propensity to lie
Each knows the correct door

It does not work in the 3 Farmer problem with U introduced.
Here's an example why.

As happenstance you randomly as T which of the other two is more apt to lie. He will point to L thus you are safe asking L the next question.

But If you ask L what the other farmer would say If you were to ask him. Since the other farmer is "U" L would be stuck. He always lies but does not know what U will say. I guess he would not be able to answer the question or if he did he would be guessing at random.

No one knows what U would say, not even U. If you asked T what U would say he would say "I don't know" and that sure as hell doesn't help you. If you asked L what U would say L would be stuck (since he might accidentally guess the truth).

The classic version of the two farmer problem is:
Two Farmers
T always tells the truth
L always tells a lie
Each knows the correct path

Note the removal of the additional fact that each knows the other's propensity to lie. It is not necessary and your question would not work since T would not know what L would say and L would be stuck (or forced to guess).

In the three farmer problem with an additional unknown we had to add an additional fact to solve it.
That fact was: "Each knows the others propensity to lie".

After you boil it down to a farmer to ask the second question to, the additional information is no longer of use because you still do not know which of the other two farmers is U. All you know for certain is that you are not asking U.
